Welcome ILG 2019

The 6th edition of Georgetown University's Innovation & Leadership in Government opened on September 16th with 23 policymakers from Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. Upon completion of the program, they become members of the ILG Alumni Network.

Georgetown University’s Innovation and Leadership in Government (ILG) is a three-week professional development, non-credit executive education program that seeks to equip mid-career public managers from Latin America and the Caribbean with analytical frameworks and tools to develop and implement innovative public policies, while providing them with leadership development opportunities to effectively promote new ideas and programs in their respective government entities.

ILG goes beyond a traditional academic program as it provides an innovative model to promote experiential learning and a unique networking platform to foster ties beyond the duration of the program. The curriculum combines academic courses that offer theoretical frameworks and knowledge along with practical applications and guest speakers from related fields for sharing real-world experiences. As a program that serves mid-career public leaders, ILG emphasizes peer-to-peer learning by sharing work experiences, lessons learned, and best practices. The program is conducted in Spanish. Some classes may be taught in English with simultaneous translation to Spanish.
