ILG Brazil 2018 Kick-Off

On November 5, 2018, the Latin America Leadership Program opened the 3rd edition of its ILG Brazil program at ENAP-Escola Nacional de Administraçaô Publica. The program was presented as a 3-module 10-day program from November 5 through December 5, 2018.

The Innovation and Leadership in Government Program - Brazil (ILG) seeks to equip public managers with analytical frameworks and tools to generate and implement innovative public policies, while providing leadership development opportunities so they may effectively promote new ideas and programs in their respective government entities.

The ILG Program brings together public policy actors from diverse countries and government sectors that will enrich the learning process by sharing perspectives and experiences, and provide a unique networking opportunity to foster ties beyond the duration of the program.

  • Foundations– Strengthen foundations of principles of governance and analyze emerging challenges and issues to develop new frameworks for addressing policy issues.

  • Innovation in Policy Development – Provide tools for the elaboration and evaluation of viable public policies with high impact for society.

  • Diverse Perspectives - Analyze innovative best practices in the implementation and impact of public policies in diverse countries, taking into consideration the inclusion of different sectors to develop truly integral policies.

  • Personal Leadership Development - Fortify leadership skills on an individual level, applying the concept of intrapreneurship to the public sector to promote agents of change within government who will impact the organizational culture and greatersociety.

This year, LALP welcomed 45 high-level public managers from Brazil, the largest group to date ever hosted in this program. The kick-off event, which was open to the public, was a great opportunity to learn about digitalization in different areas of the government and exchange ideas on how to promote these initiatives in more ministries and departments. Brazil’s Secretary of ICT from the Ministry of Planning Luis Felipe Salim Monteiro (ILG Brasilia ’16) was a keynote speaker on the digital transformation of the Ministry

LALP also hosted a cocktail event with ILG Brazil alumni, which will soon be part of our larger ILG alumni network throughout Latin America.

ILG Brazil is organized  by Georgetown University's Latin America Leadership Program in collaboration with Centro de Estudos Sociedade e Tecnologia (CEST) at the Universida de de São Paulo and Escola Nacional de Administração Pública (ENAP), thanks to the generous support of Microsoft.
