Andres Marquez-Lara

Andres Marquez-Lara is Founder and CEO of UFacilitate. They help leaders facilitate their own events to promote connection and transformation at the individual, community and systems level. Prior to founding UFacilitate, he founded Promethean Community LLC, a social enterprise that helps organizations create synergies for success. They work with teams that want to improve their efficiency in tackling social and environmental impact projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. He designed and facilitated over 150 events with more than 5000 participants. The methodology he developed is dynamic and inclusive blending approaches from design thinking, improv theater, and systems thinking. All of this workshops help groups connect, collaborate, create and complete their projects.

Andres is Faculty at the Executive Master in Policy Leadership at the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy, Adjunct Faculty at Georgetown University Institute for Transformative Leadership and a Guest Lecturer at the Georgetown University’s Latin America Leadership Program (LALP). He is also a Senior Fellow at the George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership. He has collaborated with multiple national and international organizations that include the Inter-American Development Bank, Global Giving, the Organization of American States, Feedback Labs, Carlos Slim Scholars at GWU, Root Change, the INCAE Business School in Costa Rica, the US Office of Personnel Management, and the DC Department of Mental Health.

In 2014, he was named one of the emerging social innovators of the year in North America by Ashoka and American Express. In 2011, he received the George C. Askew Award from the American Academy of Certified Public Managers for his exceptional curriculum. He earned a BA in psychology from Duke University, and a graduate degree in clinical community psychology from the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela.
