Vania García Morales, ILG 2018, Receives International Recognition for Her Leadership in the Diplomatic World

The Innovation Center for Women of the Americas, within the framework of “Women Leaders of the Americas 50-50,” awarded the international distinction: “Woman Leader in Diplomacy in the Americas 2023” to Vania García Morales (ILG 2018, Honduras) in recognition of her career in the diplomatic world. 

The Innovation Center for Women of the Americas highlights the outstanding work, leadership, and defense of human rights, peace, security, and women's political empowerment. This annual award recognizes exemplary leadership of women in academic, social, cultural, and human rights fields across the Americas.

Vania García Morales, ILG 2018, has a degree in communication sciences from the National Autonomous University of Honduras and holds an Executive Master's Degree (MA). As a Scholar of the Government of Israel, Vania García Morales was trained in business development and economic cooperation at the Weitz Ceter-Cerur-Rehovot, Social Security (National Security), Galilee College, Israel, 2005. She has held senior positions at the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras. A career diplomat, Vania reached the rank of ambassador in 2017. She has received various distinctions and recognitions for her diplomatic career, and this award is the first to highlight her female leadership in diplomacy.

Since she participated in the ILG program and as part of the agenda of the ILG alumni network's activities, Vania has promoted greater empowerment of women in politics and highlighted the important role of female leaders in government functions. As an active collaborator, she is a current member of the Board of Directors of the ILG alumni network.
