Vania García Morales (ILG 2018) has been appointed as Honduras’ Ambassador to Peru

The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras has sworn in four new ambassadors who will represent the country in El Salvador, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico, with the aim of strengthening international relations and promoting cooperation, investment, and bilateral ties.

In Peru, Vania García Morales, ILG 2018 from Honduras, has been designated as the new ambassador, with the objective of restoring and strengthening relations between the two countries and fostering prosperity.

Prior to this appointment, Ambassador García served as Permanent Representative of Honduras to the United Nations (UN) in Austria, advisor on international affairs to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, and consultant on international relations, diplomacy, defense, security, and geopolitics at Seira Consultant.

She holds a degree in Journalism and Communication, as well as a Master’s degree in International Trade, both from the National Autonomous University of Honduras. She also completed studies on the Middle East at Tel Aviv University in Israel.

Ambassador García Morales was part of the 2018 cohort of the executive education program Innovation and Leadership in Government (ILG) of the Latin America Leadership Program (LALP), and since joining the alumni network she has served as her cohort’s representative, recently has been a mentor for new participants in the program, and is currently Vice President of the Board of Directors (2025–2027).
