As part of its personalized programs, LALP developed a program to educate Citibanamex youth interested in innovation and responsible business. The objective was to provide a new generation of young leaders with cutting-edge knowledge and tools in business, international trade, social responsibility, and sustainability, framed through a comprehensive vision of development.
Georgetown University's Latin America Leadership Program (LALP) aims to educate, connect, and inspire new generations of Latin American leaders to generate a positive and sustainable impact in the region. Beyond its flagship programs, LALP seeks to work with institutions in the region to strengthen leadership capacities through programs that are tailored to the needs and context of its collaborators and the specific country. In this case, LALP collaborated with Citibanamex to offer young people with high potential a unique leadership program with a focus on innovation and responsible business.
This 5-week program addressed multidisciplinary topics in the areas of business, innovation, and social impact. Participants gained an understanding of the practical complexities of globalization and its effect on the business environment. In addition, they had access to updated tools and new knowledge on general business topics such as strategic marketing, negotiation, finances, and crisis management, among others. The program promoted a global vision of business with a focus on international trade between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Through leadership development workshops, participants understood, recognized, and nurtured leadership qualities in themselves and learned how to help others do so. The live sessions were led by Georgetown University professors and high-level experts. In addition, the participants complemented their learning through guest speakers from multilateral institutions and panels of experts on corporate social responsibility.
The virtual program took place from July 6 to August 5, 2021, in collaboration with Citibanamex. Business leaders from various sectors participated in live sessions in Spanish.
