ILG 2017 Alumnus Named Colombia's ICT Minister in Charge
On April 26, 2018, Juan Sebastián Rozo Rengifo (ILG 2017) was commissioned as minister in charge of information and communication technologies (MINTIC) of Colombia after the resignation of former Minister David Luna Sánchez.
Previously, Juan Sebastian Rozo Rengifo had been serving as Colombia's deputy minister of connectivity and digitization.
Juan Sebastián Rozo is a lawyer from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, and a specialist in regulation and management of telecommunications and new technologies. He has more than six years of experience in the ICT sector, both in the public and private sector.
The now minister in charge also worked as an advisor to the ICT Ministry during the years 2010 and 2011. He was the manager of government affairs for a mobile phone company, and held different positions in public corporations.
