Árbol de Justicia, Achieving Financial Sustainability through Mexican Coffee
Anna Paula Barradas, GCL 2020 alumna, is the Founder and Executive Director of her GCL project, Árbol de Justicia AC. Originally from México City, Anna currently lives in Tampico, Tamaulipas. She has an international relations degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana and experience in social development projects in Africa, the United States, and Mexico.
Árbol de Justicia A.C. is a faith-based organization dedicated to the comprehensive care of the orphan and vulnerable children and adolescents in México, providing an environment of love and care for them so that they can reach their full potential.
“I am very excited to put into practice everything I learned at GCL through this social enterprise “Árbol Café” to support all the children. of Árbol de Justicia.”
Árbol Café was launched with the goal to provide financial sustainability to this project so that it can have a greater and more lasting impact in their communities. Árbol Café aims to have a triple impact: 1) in the local economy of the coffee-growing communities of Chiapas, through fair trade without intermediaries, 2) in Árbol de Justicia by financing and supporting its mission, and 3) by making all of these communities socially responsible.
