Agustín Pesce, ILG 2019, takes over as Director of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic
Agustín Pesce, a 2019 Innovation and Leadership in Government Program alumni from Argentina, was recently appointed Director at the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic. Agustin joins this new team of officials commissioned to implement responsible fiscal policies, carry out structural reforms that create an environment conducive to investment and growth, and emphasize the prevention of money laundering. He has also been entrusted with the mission of improving and continuing to modernize the payment media ecosystem, a matter of utmost importance at both regional and global levels.

During his time at ILG, Agustin Pesce, who was at the time the Vice President of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, developed a project aimed at empowering citizens through training programs to improve job skills and encourage entrepreneurial spirit and financial inclusion. Agustin graduated with a Law degree from the UCA and has a postgraduate degree in Economic Administrative Law.
In his professional career, he has served in various roles related to financial regulation, as second Vice President of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, as Director of the Financial Information Unit of Argentina, and as Vice President of the FELABAN Anti-Money Laundering Committee (Latin American Federation of Banks), among others.
In the academic field, he annually directs the postgraduate program "Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing" program at the UCA and has served as a visiting professor at ACAMS, as well as a professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires. Additionally, he serves as an elected member of the board of directors of the Buenos Aires Bar Association. With notable participation in social organizations, he was Vice President of the Contemporary Foundation and currently chairs the civil association "Abogados de Pie," in addition to being a member of the Political Action Network (RAP).
