Latin American Workers and COVID-19: An International Perspective

Workers in safety gear on top of a building

Following our April 9 webinar focused on select sites in Europe and Asia, a distinguished panel  discussed governmental responses to the virus in Latin America, particularly what policies have been adopted for working people and what political ramifications are foreseen from the pandemic. Joseph McCartin, the executive director of the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor at Georgetown University, offered an introduction. Leon Fink, the editor of Labor: Studies in Working-Class History, moderated the discussion.

This program took place in English with live Spanish translation.

This event was co-sponsored by Georgetown University's Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor, Global Health Initiative, and Center for Latin American Studies.
