GBEL supports LALP’s vision to provide leaders across all sectors with the essential tools and a meaningful regional network to promote competitiveness, progress, and integral development in the Latin American region. The program will launch later this spring and welcome mid-career business executives looking to advance their business and leadership skills with a special regional focus. The program integrates key themes of global operations management, strategic leadership, adaptability and innovation, and business sustainability to empower business leaders to make informed decisions that drive organizational success in today's dynamic and interconnected world.
The program includes two three-day in-person modules in Panama City (Panama) and at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. (U.S.A.), along with an 8-week virtual module in between.
Upon completion of the program, regional business executives will be equipped with a holistic understanding of global business dynamics and the ability to drive strategic initiatives in their regional organizations, positioning them as effective leaders in today's rapidly evolving business environment.
Additional events of the GCL 2024 culmination
This Global Business Executive Leadership Program (GBEL) presentation is part of the Global Competitiveness Leadership (GCL) 2024 program culmination events.
The GCL 2024 Program is an intensive hybrid 10-week leadership seminar aligned with Georgetown’s mission of promoting responsible leaders who will make a difference in Latin America and the world through social impact ventures and initiatives. Participants are selected from a diverse applicant pool on the basis of their professional experience, personal leadership capability, and potential to make a significant impact upon returning to their home country. Now, after 18 years, the GCL program has welcomed 636 participants spanning Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal, and with this cohort, our LALP alumni network, comprised of GCL and ILG alumni, has now surpassed the mark of 900 changemakers working to advance the common good and the economic and social development of their countries and the communities they serve.
During the special culmination events on March 19 and March 20, you will have an opportunity to meet the 32 talented participants who make up this 18th cohort and represent the great diversity and impact of the new generations of leaders spanning the private, social, and public sectors across Latin America and the Caribbean.
The GCL 2024 project presentations on March 19 will include presentations by every member of the cohort, who will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The March 20 pitch showcase will feature a selection of this year's top projects and a special presentation by this year's GCL Impact Award winner, nominated by their alumni peers as a role model for all future generations of LALP alumni. This annual award recognizes exemplary GCL alumni who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in promoting the multiplier effect of LALP programs and whose projects and initiatives have generated innovative and positive impact in the region.
