Program Requirements
- Who can apply?
ILG is designed for government managers from the different branches (executive, legislative and judicial), public sector officials at the local, regional, national or federal level, and representatives from multilateral organizations with at least 5 years of experience in areas related to the preparation, implementation and/or evaluation of public policies in Latin America. Likewise, people with extensive experience in the civil society sector of the region who lead social projects can apply. Since the program is taught in Spanish, participants must be able to communicate in Spanish.
- Is there an age requirement for the ILG program?
There is no age minimum or maximum for this program, as the Selection Committee will focus on the applicants’ level of experience and merits.
Application Process
- What is the deadline to apply for the ILG program?
The call for applications for ILG 2025 runs from April 21through June 23, 2025. You can apply during this time here
- In what language must I submit my documents?
Your application and essays can be submitted in English or Spanish. Additional documents, such as your CV and letters of recommendation, may also be submitted in English or Spanish.
- When will I know if I was accepted into the ILG program?
ILG 2025 selected applicants will be notified no later than July 25, 2025
About the Program
- What is the duration of the program?
ILG 2025 is a hybrid program and will run for 6 weeks, from October 6 through November 14, 2025., as follows: From October 6-31, 2025, virtually on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (mornings only), followed by an asynchronous week to work with mentors on their projects and get ready for the trip. From November 10-14, 2025, in person at Georgetown, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5:30 pm. All program times are Washington DC times.
- Do I need to speak English or Spanish to participate?
The ILG 2025 program will be offered in Spanish.
- What is the cost of the program?
The ILG program is valued at USD$10,000. LALP offers partial scholarships to admitted participants who can justify financial hardship. To do so, applicants have to indicate their reasons for requesting a scholarship in their online application.
